I always wondered why brown (desi) families always compare their children with their nephews/nieces. It is painful enough to be put down by your own parents when they talk about their niece becoming a doctor or earning more money than I am. I would earn more and would have gotten a much higher education than what I have now (though it’s no less what I have right now), if I wasn’t going through my own isolation and depression. Isn’t it already enough to emotionally abuse your children that brown parents have to use their children to compete with their own siblings? Is that why you give birth? Believe it or not, I have seen people compare education, looks and personalities. But I have also seen brown people compare the amount of kids their siblings have and how they should have more.
Keep having kids whether you can financially, emotionally and mentally afford them or not. *rolls eyes*
